The name ‘Happy Nests’ was inspired by the behaviour of birds who craft nests for their young. Birds use unique skills and abilities to carefully and precisely construct a snug home for their family. Nests are made by meticulously gathering pieces and scraps of different materials from their existing environment and repurposing them to make a beautiful, cosy home.
Drawing on this graceful process of nature, Happy Nests strives to make the environment of our homes, our community and our world healthy and safe for generations to come, underpinned by the ideal that the very first steps must begin from our own ‘nests’.
Under the umbrella of Happy Threads by Supermoms, Happy Nests endeavours to build a strong network of Dawoodi Bohra women from all walks of life and with varied skills to come together with a shared focus to work for a healthier and safer environment, whose awareness and consciousness of their environment compels them to take action in their homes.
Happy Nests’ members are responsible for initiating change in their own homes for the betterment of society. These members will work at first at their own grass-root level - their nests - and then create an impact at the community level, in their society and then in their country at large. This strong force will work hand in hand to not only bring environmental awareness but also be productive for economic sustenance.
Our members are Muminaat from all aspects of life, ages, nationalities and occupations. In the initial launch of Happy Nests, members included Talibaat and Khidmat Guzar of all four branches of Al-Jamea tus-Saifiyah, and the participants of Kunuz ul-Iqtebasat al-Nooraniya 1442. Over the course of the year, Happy Nests will expand its reach through different projects and promotions to create a larger network from students to youngsters, homemakers, professionals, and active members of local Jamaat communities, Sansta members and much more, inshallah.
Join us in our journey to make the world a greener and happier place.
As part of the Dawoodi Bohra community’s campaign ‘Turning the Tide Against Plastic Pollution, Happy Nests starts Plastic Upcycling, with Reuse, Reduce, and Recycling projects initiative hoping that Happy Nests members will take small steps to make a big difference.
